The Gift

Img00069

midnight.

she

waits.

she,

on a chair

exhausted.

on the table,

a bottle of mineral water

 says;

Nature’s gift from nature’s spring.

she took

a sip.

hoping it could quench

the thirst

inside.

sip—

until,

he comes home

and kisses her.

polo shirt,

smells of strawberry.

breath,

filled with rank odor

of beer.

eyes, filled with obscenities

hands burning with

unprecedented desires.

tempting.

but her luggage

is packed to leave all the romance

behind.

she kisses him

not for

a goodnight

but for

a goodbye.
